In a surprising partnership that breaks traditional expectations, the game developer has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Questline Disclosed

According to the official announcement, "A strange meeting leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where hints of forbidden rituals and fearsome changes reverberate through the darkness." The narrative features a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden group.

The mission centers on "peculiar trials and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Locations and Metamorphoses

The trailer highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser concludes with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Additional Features

Players who finish the adventure will obtain an unique katana alongside multiple items concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

Newest Free Story Update

This release also adds the game's newest no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This playful quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature abilities: Naoe introduces a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
