It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have long been mastered.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the peak baggers, are the only things left for a squad that has won it all.

That it took as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their hitters to hold a record if not afforded the chance.

Finally, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy being given a chance to create her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has witnessed all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 championship victory came three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

If this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Certain people claim the case for championship match pressure. Some might respond with the test that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was much more difficult to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in the nets, it was a challenging time because it seemed my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive instincts kick in and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the batsman was on her way.

"An opportunity to take the field and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was removed her side required another 66 at one run per ball - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the assurance to do that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if we do, we know we can succeed."

These statements will be the final thing rival teams at this World Cup should hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this success succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at an important competition.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing through the pain.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this championship is expected to be her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as skipper.

Success in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
