In November 2018, Steve Bannon, previously Donald Trump's chief strategist, visited the UK to deliver a address at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The event was disrupted by numerous demonstrators, and Bannon, who was due to travel that night, told Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Protesters slowed down speech don't think I can make the plane we r enroute to heathrow".

Epstein replied: "That. Is a Gulf Air that leaves at 9:50 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "U r an excellent assistant".

These messages were published on Wednesday alongside over 20,000 documents from the estate of Epstein, the late financier convicted of sex crimes.

The release by the House oversight committee includes an text conversation where Bannon's identity is redacted. Media outlets has been able to confirm his involvement by cross-referencing the timeline, events, and locations mentioned.

For example, Epstein talks about arranging a jet from the UK for the redacted user in the chat, and commends their "address at Oxford". Bannon took part in the Edinburgh conference on 14 November, and delivered the speech at the Oxford Union two days later.

Bannon, who is not accused of any wrongdoing, declined to comment on the inquiry.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon served as the president's key aides in the lead-up to the presidential election and during the initial phase of his presidency, but resigned from the White House in 2017.

He has acknowledged he was producing a film about Epstein before his passing and reportedly has around 15 hours of recordings. In a recording of his podcast recently, he stated: "We're going to publish the film, the five-part series, next year - at the start of next year."

But the recently disclosed documents suggest Bannon's relationship with Epstein went further than being his biographer, with the convicted paedophile at times appearing to serve like a aide.

A short time before the exchange in which Epstein seemed to booked a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "how does it feel to have the highest-paid travel agent in history ".

Bannon thanked him: "You are pretty good asst", to which Epstein replied "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a visit to "AD" in another message, Epstein assured Bannon: "I will ensure you are well looked after."

British Affairs Discussed in Messages

The released communications also show Bannon and Epstein discussing British political matters in that year.

On the day of his speech at the Oxford, Bannon texted Epstein: "I became involved in the Brexit thing this morning with Nigel, Boris and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a allusion to the UK prime minister, the embattled UK prime minister at the period, he continued: "They are trying to proceed. may soon…"

Epstein advised Bannon: "I think staying as much as you can uk. Best-- so others get the commitment of your follow-up."

Shortly after, Epstein asked: "Will Theresa may survive". Bannon replied: "I don't see how however the guys here have little courage" and added "Johnson ; Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; David Davis - somebody has to step up".

May was finally removed in May 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of lack of support in December 2018.

A representative for the political party informed media: "Farage has not been in a gathering with Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest such a meeting occurred.

The US House of Representatives will vote soon on whether the Department of Justice should make public all its files related to its investigation into Epstein, who died in prison in that year.

Attention in Epstein's relationships with powerful figures was reignited recently after the release of more than 20,000 pages from his archives.

Some of those referenced the former president, who has repeatedly rejected any impropriety. The president was a friend of Epstein's for a long time, but claims they fell out in the early 2000s, a couple of years before Epstein was initially charged.
