Ex- 1D stars Zayn Malik & Louis Tomlinson are set to reunite for a new Netflix travel documentary show.
This docuseries will reportedly follow the pair as they travel across the US. At the helm will be Nicola Marsh, the director previously worked on the Demi Lovato documentary called Child Star.
This news comes approximately a year after the tragic death of their former group member Liam Payne, who died in an accident in Argentina. During a homage shortly after, Malik referred to Payne as his “brother” during a show, while Tomlinson described him “the most vital part” of One Direction via Instagram.
This group, created on The X Factor in 2010, rose to become one of the biggest-selling boybands of all time, moving over 70 m records. Malik left in 2015 and has since pursued a solo path, while Tomlinson released his third studio album earlier this year.
Prior to Payne’s passing, reports suggested that the band was planning a reunion special. Payne has recently been featured after his death in Netflix’s reality show Building the Band.
Zayn and Tomlinson had a social media disagreement back in 2015, when the former claimed the latter of making “snide comments” online.
This pair were spotted together not long ago, and Tomlinson was asked about speculation that they could be collaborating. “I heard that,” he responded. “I thought that was quite interesting, yeah … Pretty perceptive. I guess they’ll just have to wait and find out.”
Recently, Malik announced a Vegas residency scheduled for the coming year.
This as-yet unnamed show is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2026. It marks the latest star-fronted factual venture on the service, with forthcoming films focusing on stars including Victoria Beckham, Eddie Murphy, and the band Take That.
